Global Supply Chain Management Purchasing Buyer

The Global Supply Chain management purchasing buyer is responsible for purchase order life cycle including requisition management, vendor selection, PO generation, open order management, receipt and invoice payment for US defense contractor.

Responsibilities

Ensure that purchasing practices, pricing, material quality and delivery schedules meet company requirements and are consistently reviewed for cost criteria and savings opportunities.

Negotiate, review and implement vendor agreements associated with material requirements necessary to maintain the company aircraft fleet.

Support the purchasing, expediting, routing and communications relating to critical parts requirements.

Maintain working knowledge of fleet changes and modifications as they relate to materials requirements necessary to accomplish fleet objectives.

Monitor aircraft parts requirements to ensure aircraft schedules are not delayed due to parts shortages.

Assist in establishing expense parameters for budget purposes and selected accounts for accuracy and variances.

Adhere to procurement procedures and coordinate Purchasing support between Tech Ops and Finance departments.

Attend Tech Ops meetings involving interdepartmental coordination, procedures, and/or materials planning use.

Ensure departmental compliance regarding FAA regulations, hazardous materials documentation, ITAR and Draken policies and procedures.

Maintain an awareness of economic and industry challenges that may impact the availability of materials needed to support the aircraft fleet.

Education, Experience, Qualifications

3+ years’ experience related to aviation sourcing and procurement.

3+ years’ experience working with accounting/inventory software.

Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Accounting or Business Administration preferred. MBA in appropriate emphasis a plus.

Understanding of ATA Chapters and aircraft parts and systems

Demonstrated oral and written communication and organizational skills.

Demonstrate positive attitude toward productivity, safety, and quality.

Possess a thorough understanding of:

Aviation safety standards and safe operating practices

Applicable Federal Aviation Regulations

Able to obtain and maintain “Secret” security clearance.

Experience with Microsoft Office/Internet applications

Valid, current Driver’s License required.

Must be willing to relocate to Fort Worth, Texas area.

Preferred Qualifications:

Past military experience

US Defense Contractor experience

ISM CPSM or C.P.M. Certification
