Purchasing Manager, Aerospace
The Purchasing Manager supports the client’s aircraft maintenance operation by ensuring that all parts and supply requisitions are fulfilled in a timely fashion. This role is responsible for sourcing, procuring, monitoring, and ensuring receipt and invoice payment for all of client’s material and service requirements. This position will manage the buyers and component repair administrators in Ft Worth, TX and Lakeland, FL
Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day oversight of the purchasing department to include:
Daily customer purchase orders by division, status requests (15+ a day), working hard-to-find parts with program managers
Responsible for tracking payment of all invoices and monthly expense report for credit card charges
Monitor weekly Safety Threshold Reports for consumables to establish sustainment requirements
Manage Paycom and Resources for all purchasing agents
Responsible for Buyers and their performance
Produce periodic reports detailing inventory performance in accordance with financial objectives
Ensure compliance with ITAR requirements as well as all import/export actions
Ensure accountability of all logistics documents; physically and systematically
Serves as source for supplier performance (delivery and quality)
Responsible for ongoing supplier development
Demonstrates interdepartmental teamwork with proven leadership skills
Notifies VP GSCM of personnel or resource issues that arise
Education, Experience, Qualifications
5+ years related experience in aviation procurement and sourcing
5+ years of experience working with accounting/inventory software
5+ years of experience managing/supervising personnel
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Accounting or Business Administration preferred. MBA in appropriate emphasis a plus
Aviation-related inventory demand forecasting experience will be considered for education equivalency
Understanding of ATA Chapters and aircraft parts and systems
Demonstrated oral and written communication and organizational skills
Demonstrate leadership abilities and technical knowledge required to perform the duties of this position and a positive attitude toward productivity, safety, and quality of maintenance
Have a thorough understanding of the following:
Aviation safety standards and safe operating practices
Applicable Federal Aviation Regulations
Able to obtain and maintain “Secret” security clearance
Experience with Microsoft office/Internet applications
Valid, current Driver’s License required
Must be willing to relocate to Fort Worth, Texas area
Preferred Qualifications:
Past military experience.
Two years of experience related to aviation logistics and inventory.
Experience working with inventory management software
